Designed for students who are just getting started, this package provides expert insight, strategies and guidance for beginning—and completing—a successful Common App essay. We start with choosing a topic, then shift into writing initial and revised drafts. Then, we edit to perfection. Busy and Persistent: 5-Session Package
This package is best for someone who doesn’t yet have a first draft on their Common App essay. Students receive the same guidance as students who receive the 8-session package: They learn how to pick a topic, write, and edit their Common App essay. Independent and Responsive: 3-Session Package
The three-session package is for a student who has a draft of their essay and wants to make sure their topic choice will stand out and that their writing is compelling and memorable. Depending on the shape of the initial essay, there could be time to polish more than one essay.
Graduate school applicants: $690
College applicants: August and beyond: $690
One session ASAP, please!
Single-session meetings are for students who have strong drafts and are ready for a fresh set of expert eyes. With the admissions officer’s perspective in mind, we provide individualized feedback and suggestions, including how and where to add detail and reflection to show a student’s strengths. Some students arrange for a second single session for a final proof and polish before submitting their essay. Sessions may be arranged as Zoom meetings or as asynchronous feedback using Google Docs.
