Meet an Exciting Addition to the Essay Coaching Team

We welcome the expertise of Sarah J. Robbins to the Essay Coaching team.

Sarah J. Robbins is an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based writer, editor, strategist and mom.

A longtime magazine editor, she served most recently as editor-at-large with Consumer Reports. Her work has also appeared in Newsweek, Fortune, Glamour, Real Simple, and Publishers Weekly, among other publications. Recent content strategy clients include College for Creative Studies, the University of Michigan’s Center for Low Carbon Built Environment, and Yale Medicine.

Sarah is the coauthor of Keeping Hope Alive and What it Takes, as well as several young adult adaptations of memoirs, including The New York Times-bestselling I Am Malala: My Story of Standing Up For Girls’ Rights. She is now at work on another ghostwriting project, which will be published by Viking in 2023.

Founder of the Moms Demand Action Book Club, Sarah has, since 2018, organized
Everytown for Gun Safety’s Authors Council. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Northwestern’s Weinberg School of Arts and Sciences, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from The New School.

2022 Common Application Updates

Prone to procrastinate? We all can be. Unfortunately, the Common App will give you no excuses for waiting.  You can start writing your college application essay today. The Common Application essay prompts will be the same as last year!  This year the Common App is accepted by 950 colleges, and offers fee waivers if needed.  Read more here about creating your common app account today (both parents and students can do this).
