John Boshoven reports: I am excited to let you know that the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF)’s online scholarship application system is “live” and accepting applications. Please note that all applications are due on March 14, 2017 @ 5 PM.

Among others, there are a number of scholarships available, which I have listed below. Please click on the individual scholarship name to be linked to more information about the scholarship (criteria, requirements, etc.)

$1000-1500.00 for Cleary University and Washtenaw Community College.

This spring I will be offering a $1,000 scholarship to a minimum of two graduating high school seniors who currently reside in the 18th State Senate District and plan to attend a university, college, technical or trade school. The financial support for these scholarships comes out of my Rebekah Warren Envision Michigan Fund, which promotes progressive policies, educational opportunities and active citizenship in our state.
I am currently soliciting recommendations from those who work closely with high school students in order to award the scholarships. Our scholarship is called “The DreamLandsDesign Scholarship”, and it’s designed to help students to follow their dreams by providing the opportunity to learn something they love and need to a selected few.

Here is a brief list of our requirements:

  • Award Value: $999
  • Application is free of charge.
  • Having a strong passion for Home Improvement, Home Renovation, and Interior Decorating is a major factor.
  • Submit an essay, written in English and is 1000 – 2000 words in length.
  • Answering the following question: How Do I Tell How Many Bags of Concrete I Need for a Project?How to calculate concrete volume and convert that into the number of bags of concrete required for the project.
  • The applicant must write an email with the subject line of “DLD_Scholarship” and send it to
  • They will state in the email their full name with the address and phone number, Name of University and Proof of student.
